RJ Effman
RJ Effman is a writer, artist, storyteller, and founder of RJ Effman Creative Arts. After decades of professional experience in writing, research, communication, and creative projects, she returned to her lifelong passion for storytelling and children's literature.
Inspired by family, nature, imagination, and the joy of reading together, RJ creates books that encourage curiosity, kindness, friendship, and discovery. Her goal is to provide stories that children and adults can enjoy together while exploring the world around them.
RJ combines original storytelling, publishing, visual arts, and creative collaboration through her work with RJ Effman Creative Arts. She is available for select school, library, and community reading events throughout the Kitsap Peninsula and surrounding region.
About the Series
The Adventures of Ellie and Jax is an educational children's series that combines storytelling, friendship, and nature-based learning through imaginative adventures.
The series follows Ellie the Elephant and Jax the Little Red Fox as they explore the world around them, solve mysteries, meet new animal friends, and learn about nature through curiosity and discovery.
James M.
James M. began helping create stories for The Adventures of Ellie and Jax at the age of four. His imagination, humor, and love of adventure helped shape many of the ideas found throughout the series.
Recognized as a co-author through the U.S. Copyright registration process, James brings a child's perspective to every story. He enjoys exploring nature, collecting treasures during outdoor adventures, learning about animals and dinosaurs, and imagining new places for Ellie and Jax to visit.
His creativity reminds readers that great ideas can come from storytellers of any age.
James and his family have donated copies of Ellie the Elephant and Jax the Little Red Fox to the local Free Library exchange in the city of Poulsbo, Washington.
